FAIRsharing implementation at the University of Debrecen

What:

University of Debrecen (UD) has joined this project to create the framework for the existing and new research data repositories regarding research data management policies. UD has a history in fostering scientific communication and in the past few years the focus of the national scientific community has been drawn to research data management. UD plays a key role in clarifying the matters of RDM for Hungarian researchers through online trainings, events, and different learning materials.

Biography:

Judit Fazekas-Paragh is a research support librarian and currently the head of DEENK's Education and Research Support Department. Her primary work is to deepen open science guidelines at the national level. As an OpenAIRE NOAD and HUNOR working group coordinator, she aids Hungarian stakeholders to connect to the open science discourse of the European Union. Her responsibilities include expanding open access publishing, introducing FAIR principles and research data management, conducting related trainings, and support the development of open infrastructures. Related to her dissemination activities she regularly contributes in spreading information about Open Science and the cultural changes of scientific communication for the national audience by sharing updates within the framework of the Hungarian informational websites. She works on strengthening and promoting data management standards within the national RDA organization. In the NI4OS-Europe regional project, she’s acting as the coordinator of the dissemination, marketing and sustainability work package, where she represents national initiatives, forward-looking developments and related trainings in connection with EOSC. In 2020, as the Hungarian delegate of the EOSC Training and Skills working group, she worked on the development of 21st century scientific communication skills and related trainings. The aim was to create and provide a long-term framework for a sustainable training infrastructure that offers competitive competencies to different actors in the scientific community. 

Anikó Kiss is a research support librarian at University of Debrecen, University and National Library. Her primary work includes dissemination of Open Science activities in the country and providing professional support for researchers in publishing their scientific articles open access. Related to her dissemination activities she plays a key role in spreading information about scientific communication and its changes in the 21st century through various websites, the instantscience.hu blog for young researchers and the openscience.hu informational website. She also aids in the national education related to research data management through trainings and workshops. Being part of the dissemination, marketing and sustainability work package of the project entitled National Initiatives for Open Science in Europe (NI4OS-Europe), she adds value in representing national Open Science initiatives and takes part in EOSC related activities.  

Adam Szaldobagyi is a data steward at the University of Debrecen University and National Library. His educational background includes a BSc degree from Physicist specialized in Applied Physics, certified by the University of Debrecen. His current fields of interest include open science, research data management, research support. One of the most important areas of this is to familiarize Hungarian researchers with the various research data management methods and possibilities, taking into account international and national FAIR expectations. He is an experienced educator in research data management through courses, lectures, workshops, and meetups. As the data repository manager and data steward he introduces users to using the system and he help their work to make everything go as accurately as possible. He is also involved in several national and international projects, such as HUNOR (Hungarian Open Repositories), NI4OS-Europe, OpenAIRE AMKE and the RDA Professionalizing Data Stewardship IG.
